A family day out
The Country Show is a family-oriented outdoor event held at Newton Abbot Racecourse. The show combines traditional countryside attractions with local markets, food vendors, and entertainment, aimed at providing a full-day experience for a broad audience including families and animal enthusiasts.

Newton Abbot Dog Show
Introducing our first Dog Show organised by Jared Baldwin from D4dogwalking, proudly supported by Foredowne Kennels and Happy Paws. Whether you’re entering your pooch or just enjoying the fun, expect wagging tails, family-friendly competition, and plenty of “awws” throughout the day. A must-see for animal lovers of all ages!
The Dog Show will have lots of categories from Best Male Dog to Best Veteran to Waggiest Tail as well as best working dog. To join this great fun event simply book on the day! Click here to view the running order and times. It's only £2 to enter and all funds raised will go to a great dog charity called Devon Dog Behaviour Rehab Rehome. There will also be dog racing where you let your dog run a distance.
Shopping
We will have over 25 outside market stalls and over 50 inside craft and gift stalls giving you a great chance to browse and buy from a fantastic range of local traders and talented artisans. From handmade goods and country crafts to unique gifts, there's something special waiting at every stall. It’s the perfect spot to pick up a keepsake or unique present.
Food & Drink
Tempt your tastebuds with delicious food available throughout the day. Whether you're in the mood for something hearty or a sweet treat, you’ll find a variety of food options to keep you fuelled and refreshed as you explore the show. Our Silks barista coffee café will be open with delicious cakes and coffees. Alfresco our fast food café with the decking near the beer garden will be open for snacks and lunches. Our hog roast tent will be available and also our food trailer. There will also be a selection of other traders selling a variety of food including Loaded fries, Lazy Hare Bites, JJ Meats BBQ, Taw Valley Cheese and Sweet Dreams and of course our yummy ice cream vans.
Entertainment
Enjoy a full day of family-friendly activities from 10:00 to 18:00, featuring live music, pony rides, a classic car display, and a dedicated children’s play area.
Highlights include performances from the Dartmoor Hill Pony Display Team, South Devon Hunt, Newton Bushell Morris Dancers, and dog agility displays by Canine Capers. Live music will be provided by local bands Collision and The Oo-de-lallys.
Additional attractions include birds of prey from Torbay Owls, pottery workshops by Poppins Pottery, bouncy castles, bushcraft and axe throwing, and archery sessions. This will also be the final appearance of the Humaryn Shetland Ponies before their retirement.
