Newton Abbot Rugby Club Firework Night is heading to Newton Abbot Racecourse

We are delighted to share some exciting news for one of Newton Abbot’s most popular community events.

Following a recent meeting with John Baker, the new CEO at Newton Abbot Racecourse, Newton Abbot Rugby Club will be working in partnership with Newton Abbot Racecourse to bring our Firework Night to the Racecourse for 2026.

As our events have continued to grow, we created Teignbridge Events as a dedicated events platform and trading name. This allows us to promote larger community events properly, without overwhelming the rugby club pages with event content, while still keeping everything connected to Newton Abbot Rugby Club and the work we do in the local community.

When we launched the event in 2021, we honestly did not know what to expect. The response from the town was incredible, with so many kind comments, messages of support and people already asking when the next one would be. That support is what has helped Firework Night grow year after year, and we are hugely grateful to everyone who has been part of it from the beginning.

Since then, Newton Abbot Rugby Club’s Firework Night has grown into a hugely popular evening for the local area, bringing families, friends and the wider community together for a display that is always that little bit different.

Our fireworks are choreographed to music, creating a fully themed display, and this year we are looking forward to taking things to another level with an intergalactic theme.

The move to Newton Abbot Racecourse gives the event more space to grow, helps protect the rugby pitches during a busy part of the season, and allows us to develop the evening while keeping it right here in the heart of the local community.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Newton Abbot Racecourse for their continued support of Newton Abbot Rugby Club. They are a valued commercial partner of the club, and under the new management team we have seen a real commitment to working positively with local organisations and supporting the wider community.

Newton Abbot Rugby Club and Newton Abbot Racecourse often find themselves in the same meetings, with the same goal: to help bring people together and support the local area. This event feels like a natural next step in that relationship.

We will also be inviting back the original vendors and local businesses who have supported Firework Night since it launched in 2021. Their support has played a huge part in helping the event become what it is today, and we are looking forward to working with them again as the event moves into this exciting new chapter.

There will also be sponsorship opportunities and VIP hospitality packages available, creating new ways for businesses and supporters to get involved as we continue to grow the event.
