Newton Abbot Racecourse Raises Nearly £500 for Marie Curie at Ladies’ Night
We’re delighted to announce that £488.29 was raised for Marie Curie during this year's Ladies’ Night, helping to provide vital care and support for people living with terminal illness and their families.
The fundraising, made possible thanks to the generosity of racegoers and the support of Marie Curie's dedicated volunteers, will contribute towards expert nursing care, bereavement support and practical guidance for families when they need it most.
Throughout the day, eight local Marie Curie volunteers welcomed visitors, raised awareness of the charity's services and spoke with more than 100 people about the support available across the UK.
Marie Curie has since shared the impact of the Racecourse's fundraising, explaining that the money raised could help provide more than 20 hours of expert nursing care, alongside specialist emotional and bereavement support for families facing the toughest of times.
Marie Curie's mission is to ensure that everyone receives the care and support they need at the end of life. Currently, one in four people in the UK miss out on the palliative care they require, making partnerships with community organisations like Newton Abbot Racecourse increasingly important.
The Racecourse is proud to have supported Marie Curie during Ladies’ Night and is grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered or helped raise awareness throughout the event.
Looking ahead, We hope to continue building our relationship with Marie Curie through future fundraising initiatives and community events, helping to make an even greater impact across the region.
