Sounds of the Summer FAQs

Where can I buy tickets
Tickets can still be purchased for Sounds of the Summer from the Newton Abbot Racecourse office, until 12 noon Friday 14 July. Please call 01626 353235. Tickets will be available on the gate on the day of the concert.

Alternatively, visit the racecourse office.

How many tickets are available for the Gold Circle?
A total of 200 Gold Circle tickets are available which can only be purchased directly from the racecourse. This allows the closest view of the concert from a dedicated area at the front on the stage.

Can I return my tickets?
Tickets for Sounds of the Summer are non-refundable.

What are the seating arrangements?
The Sounds of the Summer concert is fully standing, there will be no seating available.

Can I bring seats in to the course?
Yes, ticketholders will be permitted to bring picnic seats / blankets into the venue. However, for safety purposes, those who wish to sit down in the lead-up to / during the concert will be directed to an area set further back from the stage. No chairs will be allowed in to the Gold Circle.

What time will the gates open on the day?
Gates will open at 4pm. Please note that this is subject to change.

What time will the concert finish?
The concert will finish at 10:30pm.

What time will the artists be on stage?
China Crisis: 5pm – 5:40pm
FYC: 6pm – 7pm
All Saints: 7:30pm – 8:30pm
UB40: 9pm – 10:30pm

Can I bring my own food and drink into the course?
No food or drink, including alcohol, is allowed to be brought in to the racecourse apart from personal supplies of water in a plastic container with an unbroken seal (up to 500ml per person). There will be bars and catering outlets open throughout the course to purchase food and drink once inside.

Are there any other restrictions on what can and can’t be brought into the venue?
The following are not permitted to be brought into the concert:

  • No cameras, video cameras or audio recording devices
  • No food, bottles, cans or cardboard container drinks to be brought into the venue
  • No alcohol, illegal substances or legal highs
  • No dogs are permitted

Can umbrellas be brought into the racecourse?
Umbrellas are permitted but must be taken down during the show.

How can I access the disabled area?
A blue badge or proof of receipt of DLA must be presented in order to access the wheelchair viewing platform and disabled area. Disabled ticket holders only.

Will my Annual Membership badge allow me into the concert?
No, Annual Membership badges cannot be used for entry into the Sounds of the Summer concert. For more information about the tickets available and how to buy them, visit our Sounds of the Summer page

When will I receive my tickets?
Tickets will be sent out the week beginning 26 June.

Where can I park my car?
There will be no parking allowed on the racecourse except for disabled patrons with disabled tickets. Car parking is available in Newton Abbot car parks as found on the following map: Sounds of the Summer Car Park Map.pdf

I have bought tickets for my children. Will I need proof of age for them?
ID / proof of age may be required for children under 16 with child tickets. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
