Newton Abbot completes a busy month on Monday with a six-race card that starts at 2.10pm and, with the jumps season summer break coming up, it’s the last action racegoers will see at the course for another three weeks.
Course winner Songo looks to follow-up for trainer Milton Harris and jockey Harry Cobden in the opening Class 3 Racing Partnership Novices’ Hurdle but, on official ratings, has a couple of pounds to find to beat Taunton winner Donnie Azoff, who reverts to hurdles after three runs in chases. It is over 18 months since Premiumaccess last won and he now reverts to hurdles after spell of chasing so Songo, who won with a bit in hand, looks the one to beat.

Can you believe Christmas Day is only 5 months away?! With the big day quickly approaching, what better time to launch the Newton Abbot Christmas Fayre for 2023!
Despite the unsettled weather leading up to the meeting, the sun shone on a big crowd for Newton Abbot’s annual Family Fun Day and it proved to be a good afternoon for jockey Sam Twiston-Davies who notched a double with wins on Max Of Stars and Farouk De Cheneau.
