The atmosphere should be lively for the ever-popular Ladies’ Day at Newton Abbot, which always attracts a large crowd, and features for the first time a shopping village in the Course Enclosure, as well as the usual competitions for Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat.
Ditcheat trainer Paul Nicholls saddled the first and second in Newton Abbot’s feature race yesterday, as Bagad Bihoue and Sam Twiston-Davies jumped to the front at the penultimate fence and held off the challenge of stable companion Alcala.
