Newton Abbot Racecourse has seen their dedication to providing an outstanding customer experience recognised as they have been named as the Best Small Jump Course by the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA).
As part of their national survey of racehorse owners, the ROA found that Newton Abbot Racecourse came first out of all small jump courses in the country. Members were asked to name the courses that they thought provided the very best raceday experience to owners, with the categories split between flat and jumps tracks, and between larger and smaller courses.
Following Newton Abbot Racecourse in the top three were Wincanton in second place and Kelso in third. This title was part of a number of areas of research around racehorse ownership, the raceday experience and ROA membership.
Discussing the result, Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse, said: “We’re delighted that our continued effort to provide the best raceday experience to all has been recognised by the ROA and its members.
“Each year we continue to reinvest in the racecourse to make sure our facilities and overall experience continues to exceed the expectations of all who visit Newton Abbot – whether they’re owners and jockeys taking part in a fixture or a racing enthusiast coming to watch some of the best summer jumps racing.”
Newton Abbot Racecourse are also one of 19 racecourse to hold the ROA Gold Standard which is awarded over a 12 month period to courses who are recognised for their excellence in the owners’ raceday experience. The Racehorse Owners Association promotes and protects the interest of racehorse owners in the UK. It has a membership of over 7,100 owners.
The ROA are currently offering their members the chance to win up to £10,000 at 12 midweek fixtures across the country as part of their ROA Owners’ Jackpot. The jackpot will be divided between owners with a winning horse at that fixture. The ROA Owners’ Jackpot will be coming to Newton Abbot Racecourse on their last fixture on the season, Friday 10th October.
