Back by popular demand this year, we’ll be offering two FREE* behind the scenes tours at our weekend racedays on Saturday 14 July and Sunday 22 July.
Whether you’re new to the sport and are hoping to find out more or are a regular at the races and would love the opportunity to go behind the scenes, this is a tour not to be missed.
As part of the tour, you’ll enjoy:
A welcome talk from the Managing Director
A visit to the Weighing Room and talk from the Clerk of the Scales to learn more about what happens pre and post racing
Walking the route of the horse from the Parade Ring to the course
A talk from the ground staff about the work that takes place to prepare for race days, including the building of fences and the safety features of the padded hurdles
A talk from a bookmaker on how to read the racecard and how to place a bet
The tour will begin shortly after the gates open so that racegoers still have plenty of time to prepare for the afternoon’s racing.
How to reserve a free place
Each tour is limited to just 20 people so to reserve your spot email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject BEHINDTHESCENESTOUR and the date of the tour – either Sat 14 July or Sun 22 July.
