Newton Abbot Racecourse are counting down the days until their richest fixture of the season, which will see some the country’s best horses and jockeys compete for a part of the £100k prize fund on Saturday 3rd August.

First introduced last season to cover a month-long gap during the summer period, the fixture has become one of the most well-received meetings of the year. The impressive prize fund will see the top horses, jockeys, owners and trainers visit the course, creating a great spectacle for all who attend.

Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse, said: “Following the tremendous response to last year’s fixture, we’re thrilled to be able to host this meeting again this year. After last year’s event we received some great feedback from all involved and were congratulated on our efforts and commitment to offering the best possible racing experience for all in the South West.”

“We’re confident that this year will once again live up to expectations. For those who haven’t experienced a day at the races before and are considering making a trip this season, I must recommend joining us on August 3rd for what’s set to be another fantastic meeting here at Newton Abbot.”

Saturday’s fixture is the second of six family-friendly fixtures happening this summer at Newton Abbot Racecourse. The Family Enclosure will be open for all fixtures until 1st September to keep the whole family entertained. Ever-mindful of the costs of keeping the family entertained over the school holiday period, the racecourse will once again be offering free entry for under 16s and students with a valid student ID or NUS card.

The first race of the afternoon takes place at 2:00pm, with gates opening two hours before at 12:00pm.

Tickets for Saturday’s fixture are priced at £18 for Paddock Enclosure and £12 for Course Enclosure. Tickets can be bought online at until 5:00pm on Friday 2nd August and will be available at the gate on the day.
