Abbot's Whispers - Race Preview Friday 19th September

2.15: Norfolk Sky a prolific winner on the Flat hasn’t really built on her second victory over hurdles at Wincanton in May so we will burden BONNE FEE with our selection. She made it back-to-back wins on her last two starts at Bangor and Cartmel with plenty in hand, Rest And Be won a bumper here last year but was well beaten when seventh to Manjakani on debut. Winning pointer Dawnieriver makes her debut here under rules and the market will indicate her chances.

2.50: The Philip Hobbs trained AUGUST HILL won a novice at Stratford earlier this summer and showed her consistency when third in a handicap at Worcester last time she should be too strong for this field of three. Azure Fly won two hurdle races last year and could be a threat he makes his chasing debut here, whilst Mr Satco looked to be struggling a little last time he has won over the distance chasing and would be a danger on previous form.

3.25: The longer distance should suit ex-pointer An Poc Ar Buile and Royal Ripple could be a danger having gone a close second at Kempton in May. Celesta has been close in bumpers although outpaced he has a jumping pedigree and will go close, A TAIL OF INTRIGUE finished second in a novice contest at Worcester last time and we fancy him to go one better here.

4.00: If Ally Stirling can give Gud Day the ride she gave him when second at Stratford he will be a danger here. Both Sublime Talent and Boxer Beat are proving hard to win with and neither are helped by the handicapper. NIKOS EXTRA has won his last two starts and whilst he may not appreciate this sharp track we fancy him to land a hat-trick here on form he has the beating of Respectueux.

4.35: AN CAPALL MOR jumped impeccably at Utoxeter and battled to win well when challenged he is still well handicapped and we fancy him to follow-up here. Going Nowhere Fast will be a big danger following his recent success at Stratford but has been hit with a 10lb rise. Unidexter is tricky but comes here with a Flat win at Brighton under his belt and Party Girls put in a better effort last time both pose threats here.

5.05: Neil Mulholland’s FAST EXIT can follow up his Downpatrick win on his first start here and the booking of Richard Johnson is a positive indicator. Gorteenwood made it back-to-back victories when winning here over the distance in August but failed to land the hat-trick at Worcester last time the longer trip here will suit and he is a danger. Fitandproperjob put in two good efforts at Fontwell and comes here in good heart.

5.40: Bohemian Rhapsody won a maiden here over 2m 3f in July and stays further whilst disappointing on the Flat at Newbury last time he will go close here. Hawker was well beaten over the distance here last month but if he reproduces his Listed hurdle winning form will be a danger here. We burden THE SNAPPY POET with our selection he put in a big effort when third here to Bathwick Man last week, in first-time blinkers today and the yard is in form.
