Abbot's Whispers - Race Preview 14th July 2014

2.10: SUPREME PRESENT made it four out of four under Tony McCoy at Stratford last month looks to be bang on here. David Bridgwater’s Collodi and John Ferguson’s My Direction both make their hurdling debuts here both have a good Flat race record and could be the main dangers to the favourite.

2.40: Cash For Steel had the better of Strong Wind when winning a seller here over the distance on Ladies Night and as every chance again. It’s the Peter Bowen trained MISTER HENDRE under the useful Jamie Moore who we burden with our selection he finished a good second here over 2m 3f to El Toreros last month and is fancied to go one better today.

3.10: A competitive looking handicap. Three of these met here last month over the distance on similar ground Porters War came out on top that day when finishing second and his lightly raced for his age he had the beating of both Martin Cash and THE RATTLER OBRIEN the latter looks to have potential and made errors on that occasion but we fancy him to put in a better effort today.

3.40: Well Mett returns to hurdling here and on recent hurdles form has chances here if recovered from last week’s non-completion over fences. Viking Blond makes debut here for the in-form Peter Bowen and must have claims having already won in heavy ground over 3m for Sophie Leech. MY LAD PERCY has made a satisfactory start for Martin Keighley and knows how to win over this ground we fancy him to land this one. The market will indicate the chances of Possol who returns after a 238 day break.

4.10: Recent Uttoxeter winner Sureness has every chance here and will go close for Charlie Mann, Speed Speed is another with chances he has been in form of the Flat A/W and ran a good second over hurdles at Ffos Las to Gracchus. ITTIRAD was a smart performer for Roger Varian on the Flat and has done little wrong this spring in handicap hurdles comes here in form.

4.40: Easily Pleased won here over the distance last summer and if he is able to repeat that form has chances here. Another to catch the eye is the game mare Miss Tenacious who looks to be running into form. Neil Mulholland’s yard are in form and we fancy BENNYS QUEST who won here over the distance last summer and who has been very consistent since to land this one.

5.10: Dance was third here on Ladies Night and looks in good heart, Cyclone was very useful on the Flat in Ireland last summer and is expected to improve over hurdles. MISS FORTYWINKS continued to show improvement when a close second here over the distance last month and we expect her to go one place better today.
