6.00 PLACEPOT: 16, 4 & 11
Our choice in this open contest is LADY LECTRA who showed plenty of promise in bumpers before finishing a respectable second here last month to Neston Grace on her hurdling debut. She receives weight all round and hopefully will improve for her last run. The market will indicate the chances of Kilbree Kid a point-to-pointer in Ireland who makes his debut for his new trainer Tom George, if Twyford can reproduce his form from his run here in early May when finishing second he would be in with a chance.
6.30 PLACEPOT: 14 & 4
Martin Weston’s yard is in form and he looks to have a solid chance with the consistent GREEN LIGHTNING. The former Mark Johnston inmate finished very close up in four of his last five outings and should have a great chance here if he handles the longer trip. Whilst both Master Wells and Sovereign Spirit are veterans they must both have a chance at this level. The booking of AP McCoy for Whatsabillion should be noted!
7.05 PLACEPOT: 1
The Tom George trained BABY MIX returns to the track after his course and distance win here in early June he stayed on very well that day and looks the one to be on in this competitive feature race. Respect must be given to Peter Bowen’s Kian’s Delight a comfortable winner at Fakenham earlier this month and Changing The Guard a course and distance winner here last September.
7.35 PLACEPOT: 2 & 5
The Paul Nicholls trained Sidney Melbourne will start a short favourite here tonight he was not fluent in his running and blunder the last at Stratford last week. TZORA an impressive winner here for local trainer Martin Hill back in May looks to have every chance of making it two out of two. Cry Of Freedom from the inform John Ferguson yard and Jolly Roger will not be without a chance if they can reproduce their previous form.
8.10 PLACEPOT: 1 & 3
Sound Stage has made the frame on all three 2013 starts and looks to have solid each-way claims here and Wait No More a course and distance winner here last time will again go close but is 8lbs higher for that win. Irish raider WHISKEY AND RED trained by Colin Bowe has been runner-up in a couple of very competitive hurdles over in Ireland and is equally at home over the larger obstacles expect a big run from him tonight.
8.35 PLACEPOT: 8 & 1
The top weight Sure Thing looks to be in good form following his recent win at Towcester and Henry Daly is very shrewd at placing his horses. Tim Vaughan’s BELLS OF BERLIN looks to have every chance here in this modest contest if he repeats his easy success at Wincanton last month. First Morning ridden by Gina Andrews should make the frame if he reproduces his recent form when finishing third here early in the month
