Padded Hurdle Design Trial at Newton Abbot Racecourse Extended
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and Newton Abbot Racecourse today announce the continuation of the trial of the ‘One-Fit’ padded hurdle design for a second year, having received approval for further funding from BHA’s Grant Scheme. The extension of the trial follows positive feedback from the racecourse and jockeys, alongside encouraging early statistical data about the performance of the hurdle in reducing faller and injury rates.
Not the easiest race to asses, with a couple of interesting newcomers in the field. Keychain sets the standard on his Irish form and should go well for new connections today, but a chance is taken with the newcomer ABRACADABRASIVOLA. The selection may benefit from a longer trip in time, but he makes his debut in a winnable race and might prove good enough. Harristown didn’t show much on the flat, but has joined a yard in excellent form and is another newcomer that could go well.
