Situated just 10 miles south of Exeter Racecourse, Newton Abbot Racecourse is a flat, oval, tight, left-handed circuit of about 1m 1f that favours the handy type.
There are seven fences to a circuit and a very short run-in.
The Devon racecourse offers views from the Course and Paddock Enclosures, alongside the Family Enclosure situated in the centre of the course. Download our 2017 Brochure for more information.
Ever wondered what the horse’s view is like from around the course? Take a look at our video where you can ride the course.
Racehorse Owners Association – Gold Award Winner
Newton Abbot Racecourse was first awarded the Gold Award by the Racehorse Owners’ Association in March 2012 and joined just 17 other racecourses in the UK who held the award until 2015. Newton Abbot Racecourse was awarded inclusion in the top six jumps racecourses in the country. This Gold Award superseded the previous Gold Awards and was judged by a panel of owners. Newton Abbot Racecourse was awarded this honour in 2016 and 2017.
Established in 2006, the Gold Award recognises excellence in the raceday experience for owners, their horses and stable staff. To find out more about the facilities for owners and trainers at Newton Abbot, please visit our Owners and Trainers section.
