Glitz, glamour, excitement – it’s all awaiting racegoers as Newton Abbot Racecourse gears up to host the annual favourite, St Austell Brewery’s Ladies’ Day on Tuesday June 21st.
Long considered the pinnacle of the social calendar, thousands of racing enthusiasts and fashionistas are set to descend upon the South Devon racecourse for what’s sure to be an action-packed evening of summer jumps racing.
Back by popular demand, the evening will see the return of the Best Dressed competitions. Throughout the fixture, a team of judges will be walking the course in search of contenders for the ever-popular Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Gent and Best Hat competitions.
Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse, said: “Ladies’ Day is a fantastic event, whether you’re a racing enthusiast or a newcomer, and gives an unbeatable insight into the excitement that a day at the races can offer.
“At Ladies’ Day, racegoers can don their finery and enjoy a glorious evening in the South Devon countryside with friends and family, whilst experiencing the thrill of watching the horses thunder towards the winning post to claim one of the evening’s six races.
“We’re delighted to be teaming up with some of the South West’s much loved businesses for this year’s Ladies’ Day. Special thanks go to St Austell Brewery for sponsoring this evening’s racing and to Austins Department Store of Newton Abbot for their fashion show in our VIP marquee. This year’s event, in our 150th year, is sure to be one to remember.”
Featuring six thrilling races, the evening’s racing will begin at 6pm with gates opening at 4pm. The final race of the day will take place at 8:30pm.
Paddock and Course Enclosure tickets are available now, priced at £18 and £12 respectively. Tickets can be purchased online until 5pm on Monday June 20th or on the gate on the day. As with all fixtures this year, children aged 16 and under, plus students with a valid photographic ID, go free.
