Newton Abbot Racecourse has been at this 93 acre site since 1855, on the edge of a busy market town, and widely recognized as an important National Hunt summer racecourse for the industry.

For an unusual venue for your next event, why not come to the racecourse. Many of the rooms command fine views across the site giving an air of peace and tranquility, perfect for your conference, meeting or seminar. The racecourse is so easy to find and has parking for 5,000 cars.

The racecourse is in a central location for South Devon with excellent road links from the coast, the moor, Plymouth and Exeter. There is also a mainline station in the town. Meetings can be held all year round including the morning of racing, allowing your guests to enjoy a day at the races.

The Hospitality

Newton Abbot Racecourse is renowned for its wonderful food and people return time after time for this very reason.

With many years of experience our chef can cater for a small intimate gathering to large functions.

The food is all freshly produced and unique, something different for your group to enjoy. When organising a meeting or function at the Racecourse you can rest assured you will be given the service to the highest standard with great attention to detail.

The delicious finger buffet listed below is mainly used for our daily delegate package - but we can alter this to suit your requirements.

  • Sliced chilled melon with fruits<
  • Selection of sandwiches in white and wholemeal bread
  • Mini Westcountry beef or cheese & onion pasties
  • Cocktail sausages dressed in marmalade & black pepper
  • Ragout cups with savoury fillings
  • Oven-roasted Mediterranean vegetable with couscous tortillas
  • Chicken goujons served with lemon & dill dipping sauce
  • Spicy potato wedge s served with sweet chilli dipping sauce
  • Orange juice and jugs of water
  • Tea and coffee served three times through the day

The Venue

We have 10 Rooms for you to choose from for meetings. We can cater for a maximum number of 300 delegates. We also have large exhibition halls and lots of room outside for team building activities. We have plenty of parking as we are used to up to 5,000 cars attending a race meeting.

The Teign Suite First Floor

This comprises of one long meeting room which is 29.30m x 7.10m with stunning views across the racecourse. This room can hold a maximum of 100 seated.

This room can be divided if required by partitions.

The Teign Suite Second Floor

This floor is split into 6 rooms which can hold between 15 - 30 people.
These also have wonderful views across the racecourse.

The Paddock Restaurant

This room is ideal for meetings and has views across the Paddock and Stables. It holds a maximum of 50 people and the dimensions are 9m x 6m

The Terrace Rooms

Also overlook the stables and can hold up to 250 people for large functions.

The dimensions for this room are 38.40m x 8.70m.

Room Hire Only Costs

If you wanted to have a short meeting, training course or exhibition but do not require delegate rates which include refreshments these are the charges.

The Cost

Our delegate rates include the following:
Day Delegate Rate: £20.50 + VAT

  • Fresh tea and coffee served on arrival
  • Mid morning tea and coffee with biscuits
  • Finger buffet to include a selection of savoury bites and fruit slices served with orange juice and water
  • Afternoon tea and coffee
  • Conference equipment includes flipchart.

Day Delegate Rate: £23.00 + VAT with hot 2-course lunch option

Half day delegate rate: £10.00 + VAT
2 servings of coffee and tea – no lunch include

  • Fresh tea and coffee served on arrival
  • Mid meeting tea and coffee with biscuits
  • Water jugs available throughout the meeting
  • Conference equipment includes flipchart.

General Terms and Conditions of Booking

  • BOOKINGS must be confirmed by the client and catering numbers submitted 7 days before the event.
  • MINIMUM NUMBERS will be 12 people for each hire.
  • CANCELLATIONS within seven days of the event will be liable to either 20% of the total invoice or £100.00 (whichever is less).
  • FEES additional fees may be charged for rubbish disposal, equipment hire, security, cleaning and event planning.
