80’s Gold comes to Newton Abbot
Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse, said: “Last year’s Boyzone concert was such a success and we received so much great feedback that we had to repeat the experience all over again in 2016. We’re delighted to welcome not one but four amazing pop acts for an evening reliving the best of the 1980s. It’s going to be a great opportunity to get together with friends and family and get caught up in the magic of this fun and fabulous decade, here in the heart of Devon.”
One of the concert’s stars, Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, says of the night: “I love coming to Devon and Newton Abbot Racecourse is a particularly great place to play. I will be performing some very popular songs so do come and join me, ABC, Banarama and Midge Ure as it’s going to be a fabulous night.”
Tony recently enjoyed competing in this year’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, against several other celebrities.
Show producer Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE from LHG Live commented: “The music of the artists on the 80’s Gold night really reflects the vibrancy and fun of this much loved decade. We are very excited to be bringing them to Newton Abbot and are looking forward to a great atmosphere at the racecourse that night. Buying tickets early will ensure you can be part of a really exciting night in Newton Abbot.”
The 1980s are renowned for a number of different music genres, from the decadent New Romantic movement to the vibrant synthesiser pop scene and the line-up at Newton Abbot reflects this eclectic mix.
